Plant Controller / Cost Accountant
Windsor Foods - Frozen Food Mfg                                                                                                       2004-May 2013

         Active member of management team, involved in business making decisions.
         Responsible for all aspects of accounting including  month end analysis of division performance.
         Prepare clear and accurate budgets with supporting documentation
         Complete accurate monthly forecasts.
         Develop spreadsheet models to make cost based decisions with actual data.
         IT representative at plant level, facilitate resolution of problems with corporate office.
         Member of cost reduction initiative, which is the sharing of cost saving ideas and best manufacturing practices throughout the entire organization.
         Member of Safety Incident Review Panel, (SIRP).
         Provide timely analysis and support union negotiations.
         Present daily KPI performance in production meeting.

Financial Contributions:
         Reduced staff from 6 to 4 by streamlining the accounts payable process and by eliminating need for cost accountant through cross training. Overall savings in excess of $150k/year.
         Responsible for company green initiative and recycling program. Efforts have saved company over $100k/year.
             
         Made observations that not all pieces of equipment in an automated folding operation where working and proved that by fixing what was missing we could improve labor efficiencies by approximately 2% - total estimated annual savings $145k.


Operations Manager

         Coordinate plant activities to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner.
         Establish and monitor overall plant performance against production and quality standards.

Develop and maintain accurate standard cost system.
         Prepare annual three year plan and provide monthly forecast projections.
         Analyze monthly financial performance for accuracy and clarity, and prepare bridge analysis to monthly forecast and plan. Develop budget.
         Facilitate the day to day operations of general accounting tasks, and prepare the monthly financial reporting package for consolidation.
         Supervise credit department - Develop credit and collection policy.
         Maintain fixed assets system and prepare all capital appropriation requests.

Plant Controller
Alumax Mill Products, Inc. - Aluminum Sheet/Plate Mfg.                                                                       1983 – 1997

•        Contributed sharp analytical abilities toward completing monthly profit and loss statements and annual inventories, including creating month-end financial journal entries and reports using departmental cost allocation and expense accrual.
•        Handled comprehensive accounts receivable billing and plant-wide accounts payables with ensured rapid and consistent large-scale collection of receivables and processing of department payables for company.
